To start the Porsche 918 Spyder’s hybrid powertrain consists of a 4.6-liter V-8 engine which is paired with two electric motors; one powering the front wheels and a second to power the rear wheels. The combination of the engine and the two electric motors gives the Porsche 918 Spyder a new peak of 887 horsepower compared to the previously quoted 795 horsepower, while torque is rated at 940 lb-ft. For those keeping track that’s still 16 horsepower shy of the McLaren P1 and 63 horsepower short of the LaFerrari.
